located on the western shore of roscarberry lagoon this project is made up of a restaurant, rowing clubhouse and paddle boat facility. the three elements are lightweight steel framed buildings standing on posts at the waters edge and are linked by a new boardwalk. reacting to the waterside setting, one aim of the scheme is to minimise any impact on the shoreline or existing planting by raising the buildings over the existing terrain, only touching it lightly. nestled beneath an existing mature copse of trees, the scheme offers the public an opportunity to engage with the quite unique natural amenity of the lagoon which has a constant water level due to a weir at the nearby causeway. while the rowing and paddleboat facilities offer users an opportunity to get onto the water the restaurant with its large waterside deck provides a very special dining experience.
