this regeneration project located on a brownfield site at the heart of leicester city offers the potential for a new link between the city centre and its largest natural amenity, abbey park. the development of this site will also facilitate the opening up of the wider area for regeneration that would provide a new, vibrant, mixed use precinct of the city.
this proposal includes a wide range of working, living and leisure opportunities including residential, hotel, retail, office, bars, restaurants, cinema and a large multi-use leisure building containing swimming pool, sports halls, gyms, bowling, etc.
with parking provided at basement level the public realm is seen as being primarily pedestrian with the new north-south route passing through three new public spaces. each of the spaces will have a distinct character generated by the scale of the space and the uses that address it.
